Bratz Party Activities
A Bratz party just wouldn’t be complete without some cutting-edge fashion
fun! This theme is perfect for any little girl who has ever sashayed through
the living room modeling a new outfit, dreaming of walking down a catwalk in
New York, Paris or Milan!
Body Jewels are always a big hit and both are perfect party starters. Let
those who arrive early get “Be-Jeweled” while they wait for all the guests to
arrive.
Passion for Fashion Dress-up - Gather all the fun dress-up clothing you can
find (or borrow from friends)…fun, fancy, foo-foo outfits (size is completely
irrelevant),
pink feather boas, faux fur wraps, hi-heeled play shoes, pleather pants or skirts, capes, etc. As each guest arrives, invite her to
the design studio to prepare for the fashion show. There several fabulous
Costume Options for every girl to X-press her fashion sense, including
sunglasses to cut the glare from photographer’s flashbulbs and blazing
spotlights!
A Karaoke Machine is the perfect birthday gift for a catwalk super-star, and
it can be used throughout the party. No fashion show would be complete
without special effects. Add
Party Lights and a
Fog Machine to create the
biggest and best birthday bash ever!
Next, have the pint sized trendy girls take to the runway! The
Bratz Diva Stage will bring out the “sassy” in the shyest of girls. If some of the girls
are timid to begin with, have the adults leave the room for a short time.
Watch the girls transform into fashion mavens! This backdrop provides a great
setting for a stylin’ photo-shoot, a rockin’ fashion show, and for hours of
fun as each girl takes a turn in the spotlight! An adult should be the
commentator for the fashion parade, until the girls get comfortable. Then
they can take turns introducing each other, “Next, we have Chelsea, wearing
some faaaabulous turquoise snake skin pleather pants, a daaarling and daring
black sequined top with to-die-for feather cuffs on the sleeves.” The more
dramatic, flashy and flattering the commentary, the better!
If you wish, you could hire a dance instructor or high school girl to come to
the party to choreograph a dance or direct a fashion shoot video. Invite
parents to come 15 minutes prior to the end of the party, and let the girls
perform a mini fashion show for them. Every little girl should enjoy at least
15 minutes of fame!
Have parents ask for autographs and take lots of photos of the group.
From Creativity for Kids, check out the
Invisible Illusions Jewelry Craft Kit
and a
Smackers’ Lip Balm Craft Kit, and both are perfect for this theme.
Create a “Shop till you Drop Scavenger Hunt”, by hiding plenty of Stick on
Jewels, Crystal Rings, Glitter Bracelets and other small, inexpensive
treasures, and letting the girls search for them.
Try the wonderful
Nail Polish piñata - we’ve yet to find a stylish girl who
doesn’t want to take a swing at one at a party. Bratz love to be showered
with compliments and with candy and treats!
Meygan’s Makeover - Make your guests feel like their favorite Bratz girls with a little make-up!
Apply a bit of blush, eye shadow and lip gloss for a quick makeover. For a
more extensive transformation, ask a teen or fun-loving mom to give manicures
or pedicures. Provide scented lotion to rub on hands or feet, and offer a few
different colors of nail polish for your guests to choose from. Once nails
are dry, let guests pick out tiny stickers to add to each nail if they wish.
Sasha's Scarves - Kids love choosing their own clothes, so they’re sure to enjoy designing
their own personalized head scarves! Before the party, cut squares of solid,
light-colored cotton fabric. Make sure the pieces are large enough to tie
around your guests’ heads.
Before decorating, spread a plastic covering over your table so it’s not
damaged if colors bleed. Use fabric pens or sponges dipped in fabric paint to
decorate the scarves. Your guests might also enjoy decorating with faux gems
and fabric glue. Dry the scarves in a safe place until they’re ready to wear!
Cloe’s Glamour Shots - Your guests can be as glamorous as their favorite Bratz characters! Collect
dress-up items from friends, neighbors, secondhand stores and your own closet
to create a fashion wardrobe. Encourage the girls to dress up in the items of
their choice and have fun!
Once your guests don their fashionable attire, give them the opportunity to
show themselves off in a fashion show. You can be emcee by announcing each
child’s name and describing her fashions. Upbeat music will enhance the event
as your guests strut their stuff and pose for glamour shots!
Instant photos make great party favors your guests can take home with them.
You can also send digital phots to your guests after the party, or make
prints and include them with thank-you notes from the birthday child.
Yasmin’s Limbo Contest - Your guests will have a blast with this challenging game! Put on some music
and start the contest while the girls are still dressed up from the previous
activity.
To begin, two players hold a long pole between them so it is level. (Make
sure the pole is at an easy height to start with.) One at a time, guests bend
over backward and try to pass under the pole without falling or touching the
ground with their hands. After everyone has a turn, the pole is lowered and
everyone tries to pass under it again. If players touch the pole or use their
hands, they are out of the game. Continue to lower the pole each round until
there’s one player left!
Jade’s Jewelry - Your party guests will have a lot of fun with this trend-setting activity!
All you’ll need is string and enough beads so each guest can make at least
one piece of jewelry. Hobby stores often sell large bags of beads for this
type of activity, or you can choose them individually. Look for beads with
letters, beads that sparkle or shine, and beads with unique shapes.
At the party, use the materials to make necklaces, bracelets, anklets,
chokers, etc. If you wish, pre-cut lengths of string to fit wrists, necks,
ankles, etc. before your guests arrive. Remember to allow a few extra inches
of string to tie the jewelry closed more easily.
Disco Dance - Everyone knows the Bratz love to go out dancing, so put on some funky tunes
and let your guests move to the music! Hang a disco ball in the center of the
room and turn down the lights for more fun!
Bratz Party Food Ideas:
Quesadillas
Kids can’t wait to get their hands on these south of the border snacks! To
prepare, purchase chicken breasts, shredded mozzarella cheese, and a package
of flour tortillas. Cook the chicken and slice it into thin strips before the
party.
When it’s time to eat, add cheese and a few strips of chicken to half of each
tortilla. Fold tortillas in half, place on a baking sheet, and lightly coat
the top of each one with butter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Cut
quesadillas into pie shapes and serve warm with salsa and sour cream. Enjoy!
Veggie & Fruit Tray
Everyone loves finger food, and you’ll feel good knowing your guests are
eating a healthy snack. Slice carrots and spread celery sticks with peanut
butter. Arrange on a tray with cherry tomatoes, olives, and other vegetables
your child enjoys.
Slice up cantaloupe, honeydew, or watermelon for a fruit platter. Add grapes,
slices of apple, oranges, strawberries, bananas, and more!
Baked Potato Bar
Your Bratz fans will love dressing up their baked potatoes just the way they
like them! To prepare, bake enough potatoes for all your guests prior to the
party and reheat them just before meal time. Provide a variety of favorite
toppings such as butter, chives, sour cream, bacon bits, salsa, cheese, and
anything else your child likes!
Mocha Coolers
Treat your guests to a special treat that tastes just like a mocha
cappuccino! To serve six, you'll need crushed ice, straws, tall clear
glasses, and the following ingredients: 2 Tbs. cocoa powder; 6 Tbs. honey; 6
cups nonfat milk; 2 Tbs. instant decaffeinated coffee.
Combine cocoa, honey, and 2 cups milk in a saucepan. Stir until blended and
gradually add remaining milk. Slowly warm over low heat, stirring frequently.
Add instant coffee and mix until completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Let
stand.
Fill each glass halfway with crushed ice and fill up with the mocha mixture.
Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate powder or
chocolate flakes. Add a sprig of mint for fun!
Note: For guests who don't like coffee, simply make instant cocoa. For
variety, add a shot of flavoring such as mint or vanilla. Serve it over ice
with the same toppings suggested above.
Homemade “Ice Cream” Sandwiches
For these fun treats, you’ll need a box of graham crackers, skim milk, one
box of instant pudding mix and a container of Cool Whip®.
To begin, combine 1/4 cup milk, dry pudding mix and Cool Whip in a large
mixing bowl; beat until smooth. Break graham crackers in half to create two
equal squares. Spread pudding mixture on a cracker square and top with
another cracker to make a sandwich. Repeat until you’ve finished using all
the pudding mix or graham crackers, whichever comes first.
Wrap sandwiches in plastic and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
(Makes 25-30 sandwiches.)

Super Star Cake!
What you’ll need:
1- Cake mix
Star Shaped pan
1- 16 oz. container of ready-made frosting (Reserve ¼ cup to frost the
snowball.)
Wiltontm Violet coloring paste or gel
Hostess Snowballtm
Hostess HoHotm
Silver Dragees (edible silver balls)
Giant Silver Star to use as a cake board. (The remaining stars in the set can
be used in your decorating.)
Bake the cake according to the directions on the package. Place the star cake
on the star-shaped board. Frost with violet tinted icing. Cover the top of
the Snowballtm with white frosting and then roll it in the silver dragees.
Place the snowball on the top of the cake. Add the HoHotm to the bottom of
the snowball to make it look like a microphone. Attach two silver dragees
with frosting to the HoHotm to create an off/on switch. Add Zig Zag candles
and enjoy!
If you prefer cupcakes, try making these easy “Microphones”, which are
guaranteed crowd pleasers:

What you’ll need:
1 Cake mix
24 flat-bottomed cones
16 oz. container of frosting
Silver Dragees
Prepare mix according to the directions on the package. Spoon about ¼ cup of
the batter mix into each cone. Place cones in muffin tin for easiest
handling. Bake for approximately 20 minutes at 350 degrees, or until
toothpick inserted in the center of the cupcake comes out clean. Cool
completely, frost the top of the cone, and then roll the frosted part of the
“cupcake” in the silver dragees.
As the excitement is so high at children’s birthday parties, most children
under the age of 10 or 11 will eat very little, and the waste can be
disheartening. If you wish, schedule your party during a time when parents
will not expect that their children will eat a meal, and serve only cake, ice
cream, and a few other fashionable munchies.
If you decide to serve a light meal, serve food that you would typically find
at a mall food court (the fav hang-out of Bratztm) -- pizza by the slice,
nachos, burgers and fries or soft pretzels.
