Caribbean Party Supplies and Ideas!
Caribbean (Rum and Reggae) theme party!
For a very cute invitation, go to your local discount store
and purchase several cheap rubber flip flops - any color! Write your
invitation details right on the sole (use permanent markers) and deliver
them out as a creative and funny invitation!
Tell your guests that shoes are optional and cut-off shorts are
encouraged.
Funtoos are a cute item to put inside your
purchased invitations for an island twist. Ask your guests to wear them in a
unique place on their body that day and let the fun begin! We especially
like our pink flamingos and pineapples for this theme.
Don't forget to include the dress code in your invitations.
Tropical and bright colored clothing are a must. Dreadlock wigs are
optional, but a big plus!
Caribbean Theme Party Decorations
The first thing you need to do is visit the
Luau &
Nautical Store. Here you'll find lots of tropical theme
decorations. Though some of them may be too Hawaiian, you'll be sure to find
lots of others that would work perfectly for a Caribbean event and here are
some of our favorites:
Outdoor Caribbean Theme Party Decorations:
Start out the truly tacky way and line your front yard with pink Flamingos.
Your guests won't stop laughing until they get into their cars to leave!
Set up a raffia
Cabana at your front door or club
entrance for your guests to walk through!
If you will be partying outside, hang some wind chimes and
Tropical Lights around to add to the ambiance of your Caribbean
air.
Bring some cool tropical shade to your special event with a
Beach
Umbrella!
Keep your party drinks nice and cold and at the same time have a fun
warm-climate decoration with an
Inflatable Pineapple Cooler.
Indoor Caribbean Theme Party Decorations:
Try some beautiful Fish that you can use to hang from
ceilings and place on tables and doors.
Palm Trees are a must for creating a tropical
atmosphere. You can never have too many palm trees, mon!
Parrots are perfect for over your buffet or drink
table!
An
Inflatable Sun ranks right up there as a favorite for
a fun and spunky decoration!
Palm Tree Gossamer is great for decorating large areas
or draping over unsightly objects to give them an island flair.
Select bright colors like red, yellow, and green as your primary
decorating colors. Use some
Balloons,
Streamers
,
and
Curling Ribbon to decorate your party site. These add a
big impact at a very low cost!
Place lots of tropical fruit around - large bunches of bananas, coconut
and
Tissue Pineapples - to add to the Caribbean theme.
Beach towels would also be another economical decorating item - cover
chairs with them, or place them in piles around the party site.
Caribbean Theme Party Table Decorations:
Scatter seashells around some
Tropical Centerpieces for
a fun look. Again, we love the Flamingo or Pineapple centerpieces for this
theme.
At your tables, be sure to have several
Coconut Votive Candles
burning and a couple sets of maracas on each table would add a cute flair.
If you can, make buffet tables from surfboards. Place some
Straw Beachcomber Hats upside down and line them with plastic wrap.
Then, fill them with different snacks for your guests - chips, nuts, etc.
Make your own seashell napkin rings. Purchase clear acrylic napkin rings
and seashells. Glue one large or several small seashells in a cluster to
each ring. This also makes a great party activity if this themed party is
for children/teens!
Create a centerpiece of tropical fruits in a basket that has seashells,
starfish or sand dollars strung or glued to the outside.
Conch shells are a perfect item to place on your buffet table. Make small
cards that have the names of the dishes you are serving on them and place
them inside the large shells to show what the selections are. Arrange the
shells in various ways to add interest to the table.
Caribbean Theme Party Activities
Hey mon, for this party to really fly you
will need to play up the rum and the reggae as much as possible! If your
budget allows, hire a band to play reggae throughout the evening and your
guests will not be able to contain themselves from getting up and dancing
away! For a less expensive alternative, hire a DJ to play lots of reggae and
beach music (Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet, and the Beach Boys).
You may want to organize a beach volleyball tournament for
your guests, or hold a limbo competition. Check out the
Limbo Kit
to make it easy!
At the end of the evening, a bonfire would be a nice
activity to do -especially if you are holding your party at the beach. Turn
the music down a notch and grab some rum punch to relax to the soft rhythm
in the background.
Make your own seashell napkin rings. Purchase clear acrylic
napkin rings and seashells. Glue one large or several small seashells in a
cluster to each ring.
Caribbean Theme Party Favors
Party favors for a jammin' Caribbean party theme!
Send your guests home with a fun and crazy
Tiki Bobblehead.
The perfect decoration and favor!
If you didn't use our flip-flop invitation idea, a pair of rubber
sandals per guest will leave them talking about your creativity long after
they leave your party.
Shell Necklaces will put your guests in the right
mood for a great time.
You know all that rum you will be serving? Serve it up in some
Glassware. Choose your favorite among
the many different
styles and don't forget to personalize them for your specific event!
Coconut Serving Bowls are great to give away.
Fill them with nuts or candy and then wrap the entire thing with fish net
and tie with string and a tropical flower.
Place a
Mini Palm Tree Votive Candle at each place
setting for a cute touch to your table and a perfect gift for each guest!
Caribbean Theme Party Food Ideas
Consider serving these rum drinks as well as many others:
Rum Punch
Rum and Coke
Pina Coladas
Margaritas
Be sure to garnish each of these tropical drinks with the
authentic
umbrella toothpicks!
Here are some menu ideas that are sure to add a tropical
flair to your event!
Anything that includes crabmeat is an excellent choice! You could
serve crab legs (if you wish to go all out!), crab salad, or crab dip for
starters.
Cucumber salad works well with this theme.
Coconut fried shrimp is not only yummy, it is a perfect choice to
enhance that island atmosphere you want to create!
No Caribbean Party would be complete without topping the meal off with
some cool key lime pie for dessert!
