Chocolate Party, Willy Wonka Party or a Candy Party!
Whether you are planning an adult chocolate party, a Candy themed party, or
a child's chocolate or Willy Wonka themed birthday party, you'll find great
ideas for all chocolate lovers here!
Dress code: All choc'd up. Dress as your favorite chocolate bar or candy;
come as a piece of chocolate by wearing all brown or white; or attach pieces
of chocolate to your attire.
Setting: Have a large table ready to hold all the chocolate treats, or
create a chocolate altar with candles. Rent a chocolate fountain for your
table!
Food: Plan a chocolate potluck. Invite friends to bring their favorite
chocolate creation, solid or liquid. With all the options, you're bound to
end up in chocolate heaven.
But make sure you've got something on hand to wash it all down with! Water
works best. Coffee works well too, as does milk. You might also want to have
some vegetables around for a healthy balance.
Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory party theme ideas: Label rooms as if they were areas of the Chocolate Factory. Have candy items
in each room (one room chocolate, one room jaw breakers, etc)
Make the invitations out of Gold Foiled paper, or to take it one step
further - wrap your gold paper invitation around a chocolate bar and hand
deliver to the guests!
Dress up some older children as Umpa Loompas to be the servers, or to run
around in the background.
Hang a large consent form on the inside of the entrance and have each guest
sign - makes for a fun souvenir too!
Have a bubble machine to constantly blow bubbles upwards towards the
ceiling, offer "fizzy mixing drink" to guests (champagne for adults or
seltzer water).
If the party is outdoors, you can decorate up the trees with cardboard cut
outs made to look like candy from the movie. If it is indoors, you could
even make the trees themselves out of cardboard. Make large candy cut outs
and hang all around the room/area.

Party/Willy Wonka Party Activities:
Hot Chocolate Potato
Get a piece of wrapped chocolate. Sit in a circle. Put someone in charge of
the music. When the music starts, pass the piece of chocolate to the person
on your right. When the music stops, the person holding the chocolate is
out. But they get to eat the chocolate! Keep plenty of chocolate on hand so
as to not run out. The winner (the last person left) gets a fancy box of
chocolates.
Chocolate Milk Shake Recipe
½ pint of chocolate or vanilla ice cream
1 cup milk
3 tbsp. Chocolate syrup
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Serve immediately.
Variation: add a tablespoon of malt powder
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
If your guests are old enough, offer this as an activity. Otherwise, prepare
these ahead of time.
White Chocolate Pretzels
1 package long pretzel rods
1 package almond bark, or vanilla candy coating
Decorations, such as red and green sprinkles, holiday M&Ms or crushed up
candy canes
-Place the candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl. Make sure you do not get
any water in the bowl; any water at all will cause the candy coating not to
melt properly and separate. Microwave the candy coating for one minute, then
stir and microwave an additional minute until it is completely melted and
smooth.
-Stick a pretzel rod into the chocolate, and with a spoon, cover about ¾ of
the pretzel with chocolate. Let the excess drip back into the bowl. Sprinkle
the chocolate with either red and green colored sprinkles, crushed up
peppermints, or stick red and green M&Ms to the chocolate.
-Place the decorated pretzel on a piece of waxed paper or aluminum foil and
let it dry completely – about one hour. Gently pull the pretzels off the
paper
-The same can be made using dark or colored chocolate candy coatings too!
