Fiesta Party/Cinco De Mayo Party Invitations:
Start your fiesta party
planning with a festive invitation that is sure to let all the senors and
senoritas know that this will be a party filled with Mexican flavor! Some
invitation ideas include:
Attach your invitation to a
Tissue Flower (this will have to be hand-delivered)
Attach your invitation to a
Sombrero and request that each guest wear the sombrero to the fiesta.
This will get everyone in the mood for your event, even before it begins!
(These will have to be hand-delivered.)
Use Mexican flag bandanas along with your invitations
Tie a small dried chili pepper to your
invitation with
Curling Ribbon (this will have to be hand-delivered)
Create your own by using construction paper. Make into shapes of chili
peppers, cactus, or sombrero-shaped invitations out of brown construction

Fiesta Party Indoor
Decorations:
Create a stunning entrance with
the
Fiesta Entrance and Lamp Post. Guests will know that the fiesta fun starts here!
They also make wonderful photo backdrops for party pics.
Use the
Fiesta Decorating Kit as the starting point for your decorations.
Add
Mexican/Fiesta
lights to brighten the room, or the backyard.
Use
Mexican Flag bandanas
to decorate, or as napkins!
Mount posters of Mexico - some city scenes, some beach scenes and
scenes of some of the historic ruins - on foam core and hang them on the
walls.
Hang a
large Mexican flag at a focal point in your room. Then, use smaller
flags to decorate the walls and doors, etc.
To transform your party room in an
instant, braid
Gossamer together in the Mexican flag
colors of red, green and white. Swag this "flag" from walls and ceilings.
Use 19" lengths of gossamer and gather them to approximately 2" wide.
Braid the lengths of gossamer using the standard braiding method. Staple
the braid at each end to keep the gossamer strands in place.
Red
Tissue Flowers can be placed in bunches around
your room.
Scatter
Chili Pepper Confetti on your tables, on the floors (if you don't mind the mess!)
and inside your invitation envelopes.
Hang a
Fiesta Man
on walls and doorways to get everyone in the mood to fiesta!
Use real cactus plants for your
centerpieces.
Fiesta Party Outdoor Decorations:
Hang Santa Fe Lights
outside your party site. The lights
alternate between boots and cacti.
Add bunches of
Fiesta Mylar
Balloons to let guests know that the fiesta is here!
Create a sizzling start with
Inflatable Chili Pepper & Cactus.

Party Food & Drinks:
For appetizers, you could do
something as simple as salsa and chips. Get
different types of chips -- blue and black tortilla chips, flavored tortilla chips (including lime) that would be fun. Serve
them in a Sombrero chip & dip holder! Have an
assortment of salsas -- some mild, some spicy, etc. Serve
nachos, a bean dip and a cheese dip.
Serve rolled-up tortillas filled with different fillings. A
cream cheese/salsa mixture would be good -- spread the mixture onto the
tortilla, roll it up, cover and place it in the fridge. A few hours later,
cut the rolled tortilla into 1-2" slices. Of course, you will have to
serve guacamole. Fajitas,
quesadillas, refried beans and Mexican rice would be super for your
entree. Be sure to have both beef and chicken fajitas, and veggie
fajitas, to accommodate all tastes.
If you are having adults, you
may want to serve margaritas. For non-alcoholic beverages, offer
non-alcoholic margaritas, a non-alcoholic sangria punch, non-alcoholic
beer, soda and sparkling water garnished with lime slices.

Party Music and Dancing
Hire a Mariachi band to come
and play at the party. This would give the evening a really authentic
touch! If that is not possible, then play some Mexican music (check
out our Latin Fiesta CD)
-- Los Lobos would be a good band to select. Once the party gets going,
play the Macarena and get everyone out dancing!
